Alexandra Strnad read for her Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Cambridge. During her studies she also completed the Young Writer’s Programme at the Royal Court Theatre, London. She lived in Prague for several years.
Alexandra is a poet, non-fiction writer, and playwright. In 2013 she graduated with a Master’s in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford where she was awarded a Distinction. She was the 2014 winner of the Jane Martin Poetry Prize. Her plays have been performed at the A.D.C., and a range of other venues, and her poetry has been published extensively in literary journals and a wide range of anthologies.
She worked as a Poetry Editor for the 2013 edition of the May’s anthology and has recently had a series of English Literature revision booklets for children published by a leading educational firm.
Alexandra also tutors English and Creative Writing. She consults on English Curriculum Development, and has authored a range of resources for English Language and Literature Teaching. She is a qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language. She is Poet in Residence at Carfax Education.
